I'm trying to create a long strand of dna with pfx. I've got spiral curves that I'm using for the spine of the dna. For the base pairs, is it possible to use these same spiral curves with pfx tubes and constrain those tubes to aim at a central axis?
There are a few techniques you might try.1. Use control curves. Create curves ( could be simple 2 cv degree one curves) with the first cv at the spiral bases and the second at the location you wish them to point to. Do pfx:Set Stroke Control Curves and adjust the curve attract/follow on the brush.
Use a line modifier.Create a pfx line modifier then make the widthScale 1( no effect ). Now make the line modifier force value negative and position the modifier at the point to location scaling the modifier to encompass your object. To make it less gradual you can make the dropoff ramp a line with a constant value of 1.
Convert to poly one of the dnas then duplicate special with instancing and use standard animation aim constraints.

Thanks Duncan... I'll give them a try and see what works best.
