Pan With Mouse And Wacom

Ok, i have a problem a lot of people seem to have : the middle mouse button don t work anymore, so i can't PAN. I have read a lot of messages on forums, so i have uninstalled the mouse driver : nothing. Reinstalled it : nothing. The most weird thing is that my pen of my wacom tablet, correctly configured , don't seem to work neither. What can i do????

Does your middle mouse button work in other applications?

I know that the logitech mouseware drivers and some of the microsoft intellimouse drivers assign the strangest things to your middle mouse button (popup menu's for instance) which may override it's normal docile behaviour. These admittedly shouldn't interfere with your wacom. However alias do suggest you turn off any mouse customization programs.

in maya you can use the mEvent class to see if anything is being picked up at all, it is possible that a key or function was assigned to to the middle mouse button in which case deleting your prefs should sort this out.

You can check in your windows hardware manager if your mouse has been picked up correctly as well.

open wacom properties and make sure the middlemouse button is actiualy mapped to middle click! and nothing else.

And yeah reinstall DOES NOT in general reset settings because they are wirtten in the registry so once you install it anew it will still rebvert back to old behaivour.

well, thank you guys. I tried everything you mentioned : uninstall the mouse driver, assign the maya application in the wacom pref to use the center button to my stylus, delet my maya prefs. The middle mouse button of my mouse was working because it was assigned to double-clik and it was ok. I still have to try your suggestion silk about the mEvent class to see if anything is being picked up at all. Otherwise, it will remain a big and annoying mystery.

Be sure to check your Logitech Driver Settings (It'll usually set it's own context menu as the Middle mouse button, but change it to "Autoscroll", which is the middle Mouse button that Maya recognizes).
-and, check your mouse properties within Window's Control Panel (sometimes it'll use one over the other [never underestimate the stupidity that is Microsoft's Windows])

what i don't understand is that the stylus form my wacom tablet is not working. Even with all the problem with the mouse/logitech/microsoft driver, the tablet should work properly, isn'it?
