I'm having a old problem that I thought was fixed in Maya.
I have a particle simulation that I create a disk cache for that works correctly within Maya. I can scrub through it and load it and each time, it's the same.
BUT... when I render the sequence on our farm (5 frames on each proc), the particles will start at different positions for each 5-frame sequence. Sometimes, it's correct, other times, it's totally wrong.
There doesn't seem to be any consistancy to it. It isn't just certain machines that screw up each time, and it isn't always the same frames.
I had this problem in the past, as if Maya wasn't seeing or using the Disk Cache so that each time, each machine would run up the particles differently. But I thought this was fixed by Maya 4.5.
Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions/advice?
