PC or MAC laptop to run Maya / Affects

Hello all,

If money were not an object, what kind of laptop would you recommend, PC or MAC, to run Maya and After Effects. Now lets put aside the PC vs MAC war for just a second and talk about pure specs. It seems to me that you can get a more powerful PC than you can MAC as far as GFX cards go. Although the PC will cost more. The laptop PCs have a more powerful GFX card, no? I am talking a superpowerful laptop from Alien Ware, MSI or Origin. I myself am a MAC person but I want to be able to render as fast as a laptop can. I want a portable work station.

Also, should my focus be just on the GFX card. I know more RAM is key. Solid State drive would speed things up as well, no?

Yes, Alien Ware, MSI or Origin PC laptop has more powerful GFX cards.
MacBook Pro has good battery life in comparison with PC laptop but in my opinion; mentioned high-end PC laptop will give better performance than MBP.

I have 17 inch early 2012 MBP, it looks great and have good battery life but i am more flexible with my desktop PC, has better performance. I wish i had taken 13inch MBP for normal usage and portability not very satisfied with 17inch MBP.

Speaking of portability, if mobility is not your concern then you can go for slim desktop (ITX form factor cabinet) and with of course ITX motherboard. You can go for either assembled or branded like Alien Ware.

SSD surely give a boost so i use SSD for OS/Apps/Cache and for storage i prefer HDD.
