I've been reading forever now that the new CS4 64 bit photoshop will work on "64 bit windows OS's only" as in plural OS's. Now it seems it only works on 64 bit Vista and not XP 64???

what the hell man?

who's actually using Vista 64 in production?

Actually vista 64bit is better than vista 32. And yes if you want to use modern hardware you don't kind of have a choice.

I just received my package for Adobe Production Premium CS4 and installed it on my dual quad core xeon computer clocked at 2.8 GHz, everything works fine for me. I updated every thing, and again no problem. I'm on Windows XP 64 bit. Here is the disclaimer that accompany the software:

Windows 64-bit Installation Issues
If you are installing both the 64-bit and 32-bit applications on Windows XP 64-bit or Windows
Vista 64-bit, DO NOT install Photoshop to a custom location. You will encounter problems. By
default, we install both the 64-bit AND the 32-bit application on a 64-bit OS.
If you want to install ONLY the 64-bit application follow these steps:
1. Run the Photoshop CS4 installer.
2. Enter your serial number. Click Accept.
