PIC plugins

Hi, could someone please enlighten me as to the PS plugins available on this site.
The Mac version doesn't appear to function in PS -maybe it's a joke on me & my fellow Mac users that I don't get?
& also regarding the PC version, -should it work within Adobe Premiere, if so where do I need to place it?

On Windows, place the soft.8bi file in:
C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshopPlug-InsFile Formats
On Max, place the file in:
...PhotoshopPlug-insFiles Formats

It should work!

Sorry, maybe my original post was unclear...

I'm afraid I can't put the Soft.8BI plugin in the Photoshop 'fileformats' directory as you suggest, as I have a PeeCee running Adobe PREMIERE, without Photoshop, but the plugin doesn't appear to work with that.

I also have a Mac running Photoshop 5.x, which the Mac Softimage plugin available here at highend3D doesn't appear to function in.

Any other suggestions ?

AAAAhhhhh,
now I've got it, the Macintosh Softimage plugin works (unusually) via the import & export commands, not open & save as I expected.

Any info on using the PeeCee version of the Soft/PIC plugin with Adobe Premiere, (or PaintshopPro software, that can apparently use Photoshop plugins) would be very greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you found the way to make it work on Mac. Because I use version 6 since its very first release, I didn't remember this tricky thing of import/export.
For Premiere on PC, I don't know. So why don't you ask directly to Adobe's Customers Support?

One very effective thing you can do, is to generate a batch process in Photoshop and convert your PIC files to TGA files. Do you know how to create a batch process?
I know it's not the ideal solution, but an excellent temporary one.

PS: Just wandering...the way you spell PeeCee makes me think that you don't like this platform.... Right?

Just a note to mix it all up here.. there is a plug in for softimage to render to other formats like Tiff and jpg etc. So therefore you don't even need to bother with the pic format.
Soft can also import other file formats but haven't played with that much.

For the rendering plugin.. I think I saw it on www.edharriss.com

-As you guessed, I'm not too big a fan of 'that' OS,...
I started my masters working on SG's/IRIX which I found much less painfull than the M$ OS t switch to.
I'm hopefully going over to OSX shortly (MAYA!!!), and may well run Linux on the AMD box I have from then to escape Bill and friends

I do use PS's Automate>Batch at present (or similar in GraphicConverter, a brilliant shareware from Thorsten Lemke)
....but find with big renders it's a drag passing it all across my LAN, just to convert.

As for the conversion plugin cowsy mentions,...I'll take a look for it, I occasionally use the Soft2Tiff etc. stand-alones, but find the 'shell's syntax etc. a pain to use.

The thing you talk about is a post-frame script extremely easy to use. The site describe how to use them.
On Ed Harriss site, the script is located in Plug-ins > Softimage 3D > Softimage 3D Scripts
