Playblast problem!

Hi all,

Im having some trouble with Maya5.0 on XP,
from a fresh boot I can only create 1 playblast, after that the playblasts stop before they are complete and i have a playblast with a little motion at the start then nothing. I have tried Movie files and Fcheck. i have to restart to create a full playblast again. Very annoying, anyone had this problem ? solutions ?

Well yes it has to do with the XP operating system i believe (this allso happns in 4.5 on xp)... its something odd too im afraid, since it works on ocasion and on others it doesent (in my experience it just crashes when trying to bvort playblasting)

solution downgrade to win2k.... but on xp this problem seems worse if you have the newest seervice pack installed (its cool how those upgrades sometimes seem like downgrades instead)... or it might be the display driver!

Yeah, that thing drives me crazy, but..

I've had luck w/ this somehow by hitting the save icon up top, then trying the playblast. Sometimes it might take a time or to, but that has been my best bet.

it says in the manual to, switch window desktop to "classic". it seems to have worked for me.

Right click START > properties check classic desktop.
