Does anyone have a list of tested/certified plug-ins for Combustion?

thanks for the info! By the way, do you know which plug-in would allow mesh-editing or distorting the image in selective areas?

I don't know of a good mesh editing plug-in for Combustion. It's been mentioned that Forge Freeform 1.0 will work in Combustion. But 2.0 will not. I've not tried either.

There are many other ways you could apply selective distortion to the frame using selections and such.
