I've been exploring Nuke for some weeks now with the help of Gnomon DVD's. But I noticed that when they use the Plus node there is a dropbox for the output channel, but in Nuke 4.6 I cannot find this box? am I just blind and stupid? I know I can do the same thing with some Mix/Merge nodes but using the Plus node would be much simpler. Thank you.
What you're looking for is in the Merge node, the default is Merge2. So if you hit 'x' and type "Merge" (without the quotes) you'll get the old one with that extra output layer knob. This is actually something a lot of people would like to see put back but for now this is how you can do it.If you want the old Merge as a default put this line into your menu.tcl:menu "Merge/Merge" "m" Merge

Thank you Frank, exactly what I needed. Out of curiosity, do you know why "Merge2" replaced the "Merge" node. and what are the advances of the new node? I spent quite a few hours trying to figure out this one. Thanks again.
can't remember but it was/is quite a controversial topic.I think Merge2 tried to put the operation modes into a smarter order and/or some of the operations didn't quite do what they should have.I might be wrong though.Just use whatever works for you .
