Position Xyz 's Problem

hey guys:
command like this joint -p 0.0303723 0.488086 0.0642027 -n hip;
maya will create the joint "hip", but the translate X Y Z are not 0.0303723 0.488086 0.0642027 .
i am confused and what the 0.0303723 0.488086 0.0642027 is ?

any help would be appreciate.

I just ran your bit of code and it created the joint at the correct coordinates. The channel box only allows for a precision of 3 by default, so it is going to round off or truncate decimals beyond .xxx

thanks a lot.
i try it again and the problem is that before i ran the code, i had selected another joint.
so i guess the translateX y z is relative. not absolute.

It's relative due to the fact that the second joint is parented under the space of the first joint. So yes, it is relative.

Somebody smarter than us said everything is relative (and then he didnt get a nobel for that, but did get for what he did before that). And in reality the center of the coordinate space is sometimes at your camera not the very obvious world node.
