Post Fog and the moving camera?

I've got a clean render out of Maya in IFF with depth and want to add Fog in Maya Fusion, which is okay except that the camera starts moving up and the Fog just follows it - trashing the illusion.........

Any ideas ??

Do I need to track ?

How do I lock that Fog in the street below !

Without a screen shot it's hard for me to say for certain, but:

If it's a shot looking down at the street from above, you can animate your z-near and z-far planes to match.

If it's a shot looking along the street, try animating an effects mask with a really soft edge.

I hadn't thought about animating the Z planes.

It's a shot looking down the street and rising up and your idea gives many possibilities.
