I had a fire gl1. It was a good card in that I could work in Maya, play games, and get on the internet w/ no problems. I decided to upgrade to a fire gl2. Maya works fine, but now the same games crash the computer and on some web pages I get streaks when I scroll the page up and down. I checked for updated drivers on the fire gl site, but I already have the most recent one. I'm on windows 2000. Anyone with these same issues? Any advice welcomed...
Anyone?
'hi
yep, I'm having the same problem about web pages.. no drivers I've used seem to correct this... Didn't notice this problem when under NT4 if I remember correctly...
regards.
I have the fireGL2 running under windows2000 the only problem I have is the not running Unreal Tournament problem, well at least I can focus on my 3D work and not get distracted by games anymore.......
i guess the firegl2 has a filter that filters out bad games.
you dont need ut man.... play q3:)heehhe

I have the streaks as well and have found the 2066 with the least problems. Don't believe there is a workaround but the 2066 driver keeps it to a minimal.
BTW, I use NT4.
For games, if the game uses directx, then its a no no. If it doesn't support truecolor or startup true color, then its also a no no. GL2 only support true color.
maybe a new directX will help?! I found that many problems i had with diffrent graphic cards were 50% driver 50% directX!
