Problem with imported hierarchies

I'm importing a dotXSI file into my scene and I'm having problems with the hierarchies. THe problem is that I can't move the child objects seperate from the parent unless I go into the Options menu on the Local Transform properties and and uncheck Position from the constrain menu. Of course if I then want the object to move with the parent again I have to go back in and re-check it.

How do I get around this to where I can move child objects locally and still have them contrained by the parent object?

It would help if you could remove the position contraint.

Then, in the Constrain menu, uncheck Auto Child Compensate. So when you move the parent, you move the child at the same time, and you can move the child independently as well.

I don't see Auto Child Compensate in the constrain menu or in the manual anywhere. Can you elaborate? I'm using XSI 2.0.3.

Try pressing the constrain button on the side of the interface, rather than trying to get it from the menu at the top.
