Problem with Lighting/Shadowing/Rendering =)

Hey,

I have been trying to render this image up with a plain white background and a diffused shadow underneath it.

However when i render it up, there is shading on the background cube i used, which is dodgy.

So i turned the primary visibility off the render and then tried to render it like that. I loose some of my whiteness in the model, and there is no shadow when i inport from TGA into photoshop. So i dont know what to do?!

I am told to use a background shader, but i dont know how to do it!

Can someone please help me!

its hard to tell what your problem is from the limited description - i recommend reading up 'useBackground' shader in the Help files.

in your situation [from what i understand] you would apply the useBackground shader to the scene objects, so it will be matte out the area where the objects would be in RGB, but the shadows will appear in Alpha. just try it out and you'll see what i mean

it doesn't matter what color the background is, providing your objects are rendered with Alpha, you can composite the bg separately.

also Photoshop 7.0 has a bug with TGA files and Alpha (fixed in 7.01), still i don't recommend using TGA. RGBA tiff would be a better choice.
