Hi to all. I was wondering if anybody could help me. I'm having a problem with animating my character's eyelids. The lids are part of the geometry of the head and the head is a sub'D surface. So in opening and closing the eye I am using shape deformation. I have two working shapes, one the eye is open, two the eye is closed. The problem is after all is setup on a slider the transition to the closed eye causes the geometry of the lid to crash through the eyeball, it is going in a straight down motion as opposed to following the profile of the spherical eyeball. If anyone has a solution to this problem I would be extremely grateful.Thank you all for your time.PS I'm sorry for not posting this in the XSI animation forum but I thought that I would have a better shot at an answer here because this forum seems to get more traffic.Donald
general gets more traffic cause it has a wider scope. It's always best to post questions in the proper forum.
You could make a new middle-shape, where the lid is half-closed (but not going through the eye of course), then morph from open to
