Problems with Maya, please help

Ok, I am running Windows XP Pro. I downloaded Maya 4.0 Final, installed it just fine. It is Maya Unlimited. Yes, I downloaded it, I am 16 and cannot afford to buy a 1,000 dollar program. Back to the problem, I used this crack thing, I ran some awcrypt.exe in the Command Prompt, copied the aw1.dat to FlexIM, did all it said, and when I tried to run Maya, I get a Liscense Error: Maya cannot find a suitable liscense for this software, or something simaler to that. Can anyone help me? Does anyone have a liscense file for Maya 4 Unlimited that I can use? Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Look, lots of people started out in 3D the same way you are attempting to do, there is no denying that. An I am not usually one who likes to pile on one of these posts, but...

Use some common sense. This is not a place where you come with a question like that. This is a board for legitimate users. At the very least, users that are smart enough to appear legit. If you are not enterprising enough to get your crack up and running, you probably don't have the problem-solving skills to succeed in this business anyway.

For your information, I am not new to 3D. And just because I cant get a crack to work doesnt mean I wont be able to make it in this business, I did not ask for your business advice anyways, I asked for a little help with a crack. And highly doubt all of the people here 'purchased' Maya.

amen to that brother. this is a forum for professionals and students to share and exchange info, and if you need help on running cracks, go to the newsgroups where you downloaded the program. If you are 16, I suggest you look into taking some 3d classes.

don't go around telling everyone you are using a crack, at least have the courtesy to pretend you are legit when posting in this forum.

Well I'm not 16, and I can afford a $2000 program. It pays my rent, clothes my kids, and feeds us.

With Maya PLE freely available, the only reason I can think of for someone running a crack is that they're trying to undercut me and take my work. As you can imagine, I'm not particularly keen on that idea.

Get the PLE. And dont even think about doing commercial work on a cracked version of Maya- you're not just ripping off a faceless corporation, you're rippping off honest users as well.

Well, crappy thing with PLE for a student is that you can't work at school and take your work home and work on it there.

Student versions of maya should be cheap enough (if you can get to be a student in AWs mind ive, ran into problems with this some years ago... but 2000 isnt realy that much money, maya used to buch more expensive than that). Besides using cracked version to do shool work is a bit questionable since youll be probably be using that work whan you serch a job... And hence ripped someone off.
