Problems with Quadro FX1000

Hello folks,

I just removed my ATI 9600 card (also uninstalled all drivers) and installed a Quadro FX 1000. After installing the 67.20 driver from nvidia I tried running Maya. The performance is very good - but unfortunately very unstable. After a few minutes working, Maya freezes (completely -> restart) or quits with an error-message "Fatal Error .. Attempting to save.."

The PC is homebuilt (XP, Athlon 2400+ with an Asus nforce2 board (A7N8X-X). Are there any incompatibilities or is this a driver-problem ?

Thanks for ANY help,
Boris

hard to say, i doubt its the graphics card... id look for something in the mobo settings such as agp aperture, consider upgrading your mobo bios.

Aslo ive seen sytems that needed special swithes to be turned on in the bios for certain graphics cards to run fine.

FX1000 is a very stable car, so I agree it is not the video card. may be the ATI driver did not get uninstalled properly. I would uninstall ATI driver, reload directx, reload nVidia driver again.
