quadro4 700 and tyan tiger and trinitron??
i am getting some interference in the display...like bad reception....
anyone know anything about this?
appaerntly it was the combination of a tyan mother board, a quadro4 700 and a 21" trinitron...
now i have an asus mother board...everything is just peachy now
What kind of interference? Lines?
yup....lines
tried the card in other machines with tyan...and same lines were there
Are they slightly diagonal? Could you see slightly seperated rgb lines?
yeah...exactly.....and when i changed resolution....or refresh rate, the lines changed..
you know what it was?
Well I get a similiar problem but it doesn't matter wether or not anything is connected to the monitor.
I have also had problems with monitors in certain installations where if the monitor was a the wrong angle to a wall in my office it would go crazy and vibrate or have cycling lines. The only explaination I found for that was that the wiring in the building was bad and that the wall in question had wiring running through and it was not grounded properly. Actually I had an electrician come in and he said that there was a drainage pipe running through the wall and that it must be shorting the ground or something. The test of this was to get a samall portable radio and tune it to static.. with the antennae extended you could wave it the wall and find sources of eletrical fields because the sound of the static gets louder when it's near an electro magnetic field. This was a rather large wall and no matter where I moved the monitor I had this problem unless it was perpendicular to the wall. Other monitors had the same problem but some didn't. The monitor in question was an SGI monitor so it was probably a Sony trinitron.
I have also had problem putting my Sony 13 NTSC monitor next SVGA monitors. The sony isn't shielded very well and depending on the computer moniotr next to it the Sony would cause scrolling lines or discoloration in the computer monitor.
