Hello everyone, I've been checking this site since the days when it was
called HighEnd3D. Now that I started on my journey to learn 3D, I
finally registered.
I purchased a Lynda.com tutorial, 3ds Max
Essential Training to help me get started and I've been around with the
proboolean object type. However, there's a side effect that happens
whenever I use it:

As
you can see, one of the surfaces is not smooth. This is a model of a
pyramid-shaped stand and the smaller pyramids I've "carved out" (using
proboolean substraction) are used to put items into them, such as shoes
or folded shirts etc.
My question is, how do I make the surface smooth? Thanks in advance for your help guys ![ ](//localhost:3000/images/emoji/emoji_one/slight_smile.png?v=3)
