Python Module Errors

Hey guys,
    I've been getting this in my output window when launching Maya, and its preventing me from executing any python scripts from my shelf. Any help would be much appreciated:

ImportError: No module named maya.app.python
Invalid Python Environment: Python is unable to find Maya's Python modules
Python Evironment:
PYTHONHOME = c:\python26
System modules located at: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2008\bin\python25.zip
Python cannot find sys module!

you have screwed up your python execution environment by swapped it up with another python interpreter. Thy told you in the manual thet this was a very bad idea. You shouldnt really be doing this unless your a very very experienced python user.

So, no direction in fixing? I guess I did it unknowingly. I wanted to learn python, so a programmer here at work told me to install a version of it, so I did. I guess that mucked things up... maybe I can get them to help me correct it...

Okay... I think I may have fixed it just by changing my windows environment variable to
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2008\Python.

Let me know if you think there is something else I need to do.

put it in maya env annd restore your environment, that way you have both.

But yes even im not so crazed i coud peer into your execution environment.
