is there a python syntax that allows you to enter component mode and select and list all the vtx in an object or the only way to do this is by mouse clicking and going into the component editor of an object and then listing the selection.
CODE
import maya.cmds as cmds
getSelect=cmds.ls(sl=True)
getVFVal=cmds.polyEvaluate(getSelect[0],v=True, f=True )
print getVFVal
For changing to component mode
CODE
import maya.mel as mel
mel.eval("changeSelectMode -component;")
ah thanks that makes sense. It lists all the vertecies, but how would i be able to move a couple of them or just list/group them
so that i can manipulate them.
for selecting the vertex we can use like this
CODE
import maya.mel as mel
import maya.cmds as cmds
mel.eval("changeSelectMode -component;")
getSelect=cmds.ls(sl=True)
cmds.select((getSelect[0]+".vtx[1:150]"),r=True)
cmds.hilite(getSelect[0])
thanks alot kurianos, your awesome!
