I can't see 'DirectX Realtime Shaders'

Windows 2000 Pro.

1. You need to have DirectX 8.1 installed.

2. Just open the netview, go on the add-ons section, and click on the DirectX logo.

3. For an easy start, you should use one of the shader builders (in the tools on the left side of the page). Select the object to attach the DirectX shaders. Follow the instruction on the builder page and press the "Generate shader tree" button.

4. Don't forget to set the perspective viewport to Realtime Shader

A window called "Softimage|XSI DirectX Custom View" should appear with your selected object inside.

You need to have the Microsoft forms 2.0 activeX installed. This comes as part of :

Microsoft Office(Word/Excel/Powerpoint/etc.)
Microsoft Visual Basic

If you do not have these applications or do not wish to install these application, you have another alternative. You can install the ActiveX control pad from here : http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....l/html/cpad.asp . This is a free package from Microsoft that adds ActiveX forms capabilities to your system.
