Quadro Fx 5500 Verses Ati Firegl V7350

Hi,

I was wondering wath the big difference is between the ATI FireGL V7350 and the Quadro Fx 5500?
there is a big price difference...the ATI is almost half the price of the Quadro

I work with Maya on a proffesional basis and am trying to put together a new workstation and I haven't figured out yet witch graphics card I should buy

could anyone give me some advice?

well you should relay consider 2 times on this efore you bu either one. 5500 is probebly a better choise but its not yet fully tested and so on so...

But fisrt you shoukd esxplain what kind f speed you think of getting out of theese cards. Bacsuse their cost is much more than just speed. MOstly they are stuff some users never tuch in their lifetime so they would be big dissapointments in terms of moneyversus performance.

if price is a concern, you might want to stay with Quadro FX4500, this is a tried and true workstation card at half the price. although 512mb RAM vs. 1gb RAM of FX5500.

pls note, new Quadro cards based on G88 chip is coming in January. you might want to take that into consideration.
