Hey there!
I'm currently working on a script that creates joints and controllers based on locators, and then parents the corresponding objects through user input.
I've developed most of the script, but now I'm trying to come up with a UI that will allow the user to do everything more intuitively.
I have separated the process into three steps -
Creating the joints based on a selection. I have a button that calls the procedure to do this and everything is running smoothly there.
Creating the controllers based on a selection.
I have four radio buttons - one for each type of controller I set up - and a button to execute a procedure that contains a switch which determines which controller the user wants.
So right now, the procedure goes :
How can I get the button to call this procedure based on which radio button selection the user makes?
- Lastly, I have a final procedure that parents the joint locator to the controller (based on user selection) and renames the hierarchy according to object type. Once more, this is a variable in that procedure - parentRenameHier(string $newLocName) - so I'm wondering if I can include a textField and query the contents to then use them as the variable/name.
I'm decently new at MEL, so there may be some foundational errors with what I'm trying to do. If anyone can please let me know if that's the case, that'd be awesome.
Thanks!
