thank you very much for the quick response, im finishing up my movie today actually after a year of hard work so its too late to impliment these renderers on my current work, but my next project i am aiming for ILM like quality and will definately take a close look at these options.
have you ever tried either one? if so could u tell me more about it?
it seems ray diffuse has its short comings..it looks great on a flat shaded model but when you texture your model it seems to lose its effect to a degree.
and does poly trans actually convert the maya file (.mb) to a soft file? so you open up the file in soft and then render it?
wont i have issues if i used techniques like sub d, blends, or shaders, that are specific to maya?
