Re-numbering utility

I made the mistake of not using frame padding when rendering out a sequence. Now I need to renumber 100's of frame. There used to be a good utility called Softgui.exe but I don't have it anymore. I was going to use the flipbook to do it but I notice that the file size are much smaller after doing it this way which makes me believe they are being compressed which is no good.

Can someone tell me the name of a good utility that will change the number padding of a sequence???

On this very site you can get RnameIt, wich is pretty good. Also, acdsee can do renaming.

I wrote a tool called "Reng" (Rename Engine) just for this purpose. It does a bunch of things besides renaming/renumbering such as batch file management from multiple locations, use your own custom commands to process files other than the default copy or move (such as image file conversion, bulk zip/compressing, creating masses of shortcut links, etc..), and more. Online help included.

Reng can be downloaded at www.mantom.net in the download area.

PS - Reng is a command line tool which allows it to be launched from your scripts and other tools.

You can also rename your sequence using the flipbook. But you'll have to delete the extra files when you are done.
