Hello Everybody,
I am using mental ray to render some real flow meshes.Real flow meshes are exported from the aplication like trianguleated geometry in a .bin format. There is a plugin to import meshes from real flow 3, from the NextLimit site.( Now the plugs support for RF 3 doen't exist anymore, because there is RF 4 wich is using pyton scripts.) So when i am rendering full meshes it's ok. What i mean by that is: RF meshes are full animated geometry, it updates every frame. I want to do some water drops on an orange , apple , etc but the mesh is half inside the geometry so it render in black, no matter what ray depth i use. If i scaled it, just to fit my geometry and not to intersect it , the render looks fake , because in some areas the mesh didn't look right om the surface. So, i put in real flow an atribute call clipping that means it cut from the mesh that is inside the geometry (orange). Perhaps i shoud explain what 'meshes' are. RF emits from the vertexes of the geometry some particles.based on those particles it generates some meshes each frame , and the meshes are the fluid itself. So , with clipping it cuts the parts of the mesh that's inside the orange. When i render the new meshes (cuted) Mental Ray just abort the render because it said that the mesh isn.t a poly surface. Why does it do that? What should i do ? (it isn't a problem with the RF importer plugin, it's abouth MR) 10x.
PS: Perhaps you wouln't understand my question if you haven't use Real Flow & Maya. Just say what you sugest based on MR and the poly's.
