Realistic Fire in XSI

Anybody had any success with rendering compelling, realistic fire effects in XSI? I've played with the small flame tutorial, but haven't see anything I can get excited about. Anyone know where I can find more info to get some strong results?

Hi teanau,

Yes, the little flame is quite good, but I haven't seen any examples of a big raging fire that don't look 'puffy' and 'particle-y' or stylized and cartoony.

I would really like to get something that could hold up in a more photorealistic environment without looking 'gamey'.
