Rebuild curves refuses to work

Have anyone experienced this (Maya 4.02). Rebuild curve does nothing. After a restart it works fine. Wierd...

The usual, Result: curvename. That's what was so odd. Otherwise it could have been some flaky UI problem. I tried all the usual stunts: renaming, deleting history, copying it etc. Unfortunately one of the good stunts with messy nurbs is to rebuild them - darn.

For me bunches of operations will crap out until a restart. Sometimes it won't even let me change render globals settings until i save, restart maya, and try again. In fact it happens frequently enough that i don't really worry about it anymore

Yeah. 3.x felt rock solid in most departments but with 4.x it feels like there are alot of wierd things going on. Maya still feels very solid crash wise but strange things seems to happen more frequently. Things not working as expected or with wierd results, necessary restarts etc. Is this just my impression?

Ive encountered this on ocasion but cant remember the workaround... But there is one, im sure of it because i got finished.

Ok lets see the typical workflow i use for most stuff that dont work is this... but i dont remember sice there are at least 6 different problems that might cause this.

General workflow:

Delete history

Check hypergraph

Reread the error message

Consult online help

Check if theres too many trim curves involved (or even one)

Reiterate

Check the options and try with some other one.

Extract the curves and re loft it

export selection then import again

Reiterate
