Render.exe

Hello,

Somehow, when I try to batch render maya won't let me and I believe it's because maya don't know the path to my render.exe. How can I set this up?

I've tried the MRL app which has maya spit out maya software renders only.

Can somebody give me some advice here?

Intel Quad @ 2.40 ghz, windows xp 32 bit, maya 8.5

does the account you are using have administrator privileges?

Is this a recent install, did maya ever work correctly on this system?

I tired to re-install Maya but the error remained.. so it has never worked correctly

do you have any virus software on this computer? I may be blocking the render command

Open the commandline of your operating sytem and chek if render is in the file path? Maybe the maya path veraibles are worng

Joojaa, I know thats what I've been thinking too, but how do I know where maya is looking for render.exe?

type ECHO %PATH% into the commandline

you should see the correct path to render.exe there if you don't see one at all or one that is wrong that might be the problem..

you can set it by getting properties on mycomputer, advanced, envrionemnt variables, path

oh my bad, i ran cmd and maya is pointed to .\maya8.5\bin which seems right, no?

yeah.. I didn't think that would be the problem unless you had some older or newer version installed as well and I seem to recall Maya being to find other commands in it's bin even if there was not path for it defined.

You never answered wether or not you have virus software installed?
