just lookin for a quick answer on flags for the render command when it concerns batch files
i checked the render -? list and for file name convention and output format it gives me the following flags
-fnc & -of
it says -fnc uses an int to tell it which one to use, i assume its the list from the globals starting with 1...i havent tested yet
my main question deals with the output format, it says to use strings following the flag...is the format for the string just "iff" or ".iff" or is it something completely different, if anyone knows i could use some help
re: output format, check the e.g. at the bottom of the help text output:
e.g. -x 512 -y 512 -cam persp -im test -of jpg -mb on -sa 180 file
you can also type 'Render -r -sw' to get software render flags
it had this:
-fnc int File Name Convention: any of name, name.ext, ... See the
Render Settings window to find available options. Use namec and
namec.ext for Multi Frame Concatenated formats. As a shortcut,
numbers 1, 2, ... can also be used
-of string Output image file format. See the Render Settings window
to find available formats
your milage may vary, 'cause i only have ple 7 right now ![]()
well im workin on 2008 now, but you basically just repeated what i had already seen from render -?
i just wanted more clarification on what specifically follows -of
is it .tif or just tif
anyways i tested it out and i got it working, the only problem is the TIF compressed and TIF uncompressed, both have the same extension but i dont know how to tell maya which one the user is choosing
