Hey, you can create your own image plane from scratch in this manner:
1) create a nurbs plane that matches the size and aspect of your camera film aperture (you'll need to convert from inches to cm, assuming you're working in cm)
2) move your camera to world zero.
3) position the plane in front of the camera.
4) move the plane N units away, where N is the focal length of your lens in mm.
5) group the plane under your camera (or some node under the cam grouped at the camera "nodal point").
6) Texture map plane. Scale group as needed. The image plane will scale correctly.
