I have a few IBM Intellistations equipped with dual 1.8 ghz XEON cpu's (3.6 ghz total) and a cheap little e-machine with one 2.0 ghz pentium ... The dual proc systems utilize both CPU's equally during rendering... however the render time is actually slower than the e-machine. Anyone know why this is? Thanks!
they could be really old Xeon CPUs, which had quite low FSB... what is the FSB speed of each machine...? how much L2 cache on each CPU...? also how much ram in each box and what speed is the ram... maybe the Xeon box is going into swap?
