Renderer Command Options

Hello,

I am doing a plug-in for an external renderer, so I look the MEL code for Maya / Mental Ray.

In registerMayaSoftwareRenderer.mel, you can read in the registerMayaSoftwareRenderer() :

CODE
renderer -renderProcedure "mayaSoftwareRender";
(there are also other options before and after this one).

You can find this procedure definition in renderWindowPanel.mel :

QUOTE
global proc string mayaSoftwareRender(int $width, int $height, int $doShadows, int $doGlowPass, string $camera, string $option)
{ ... }

My question is :

From where are taken the mayaSoftwareRender parameters when this function is called from the renderer registring ?

Thanks.

Well fundamental idea is thet if your making a queuing application you shouldn't touch mel. Because everything you may really want t change should be in the commanline command. So having a renderer change the scene befoore the call is a bit fishy if you just want to change the renderer.

Anyway to answer your question form the render nodes. The gui is just a front for stuff in nodes in maya.

Thanks.

Actually, $doShadows and $doGlows are not related to any node parameters.
They come from options set in the Render View.

But I still don't know how to sue th$options parameters.
