I could have sworn that somewhere in some book or online, I found a mel command which I used a long time ago that didn't just return a skeleton to its original bind pose - it recorded the current state of the skeleton with any translations, rotations, etc. as the NEW bind pose. I really need to find this because I'm having major problems binding my base facial blendshape to the character's skeleton. I can't get the skeleton back to bindpose. I disabled all nodes to no avail. I've done all sorts of weighting on the arms, legs, pants and shirt that I really don't want to redo again by unbinding. I set the skeleton up with the Alex Alvarez method of IK/FK, which is no longer necessary with Maya 4, and I would guess that this setup may be contributing to the complications I'm having with the bind pose.
Does anyone have any alternate solutions???
I swear there was a Maya Script for this! (not the pointing down the bone one either)
