Roto spline keys are getting wonked

I've got a 163 frame roto, got to frame 98 yesterday on a single roto matte, saved, went home.

This morning I come in, open it, everything's peachy. I start keyframing spine knots at frame 110, save, re-open, now all the keyframing I did from 1-98 is completely screwed up. is this a 'feature' or user error?

Sorry asking this, but did you watched if the Animate button was red?
