Saving Over-writes Fur Settings

So I'm working with my scene, and I have 3 fur descriptions on the same mesh...all with differen't direction, baldness, and other settings.

I have noticed that sometimes after I save, some settings will become erased (mostly baldness and direction).

All I did was save the scene, so this doens't make sense.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Please provide a solution if you have one, thank you!

Got it.

I almost ALWAYS create a project folder, but for some reason I didn't this time, and Maya was having a difficult time determining how to handle the fur files, so since there was no place to put them within the project, they were being overwritten randomly.

Oops.
