This is my first character model. I decided to use myself as the reference for the model. It doesn't look exactly like me just yet.
Any and all comments/critiques are welcomed, especially on my edge flow.
I started out doing the eye and mouth area in NURBS then converting to polys. To fill in the rest I extruded edges out from the eye and mouth area and snapped the verts to some NURBS curves that I laid out earlier.
So far total time spent on it is about 6-8 hours and some how managed to keep it 100 percent quads. For the most part its finished, except for a bit more tweaking.
Yes the ear seems too small or maybe you just havve ears that low idontkonw.
Okaya afew things you have a bit too boxy layout, your somewhere in between a good loopmodell and box one this will affect your faces deformability.
Secondly your image appears to have a slight hint of what i call double FOV! This occours becaus eyou guys take pictures and use them as reference but you stick the front and left pictures to ortographic views. Well the camera isnt ortographic unless you used atelephoto lense form 20 meters away (even then theres slight fov but not much ). So what you should do is use this as imageplane of a camera view instead. Or draw it clean and fix the FOV. This is realy common to see, and the effect is undisturbing and people cant point out why it is.
yeah...the ear looks like its been glued on...there should be a smooth transistion from the cheek area to the ear...I love your model & look forward to seeing the completion
