Serious combustion bug in 2.1

Recently we upgraded all our boxes from 2.01 to 2.1. We were happy with all the bug fixes but noticed one really big new bug that makes combustion nearly UNUSEABLE. Can anyone else verify our results?

The Problem: Any composite operator blurs the footage in the Y direction and shifts the footage up a few pixels.

To recreate this problem.
1) Open any 2k plate
2) Nest the composite a few times.

If you view the composite operator at best quality you'll notice a slight shift in Y and a slight blur. This is very noticeable when the composite is nested a few times and compared with the original footage.

If anyone has a workaround please let me know. And if anyone from Discreet is reading this, please fix this bug immediately.

Hi,

I have been testing your issue and I have not been able to replicate the problem.

I took a kodak 2K frame and nested it 5 time and then compared the original footage in the composite to the top of the workflow and there is no shift occuring.

Are you refering to the render output? What fileformat are you working with ? please provide alot more information...

I will try to be a bit more detailed with the problem. The footage we are working with is actually 3 perf 2k image files, cineon 10 bit, with a resolution of 2048X1167.

We have tried numerous experiments with the composition size. We tried importing the 2048X1167 footage into a composite the size of 2048X1556, and the problem still persisted.

What we noticed was that the footage blurs a bit, as well as shifts upward on the y axis.

So in order to replicate the problem I am seeing, I suggest opening a file with 2048X1167 image size, and comparing the original footage with the composite views or nested composite views. Be sure you are viewing the comp in best mode; in preview mode you cannot see a difference.

I have tried what you suggested but still not shifts on my end. I am testing this on combustion 2.1.

Would it be possible for you to Zip up a workspace and one image file that is causing this issue and email it to me.

This just ensures that I have got the exact same workspace setup and same image as you to replicate the issue.

Yup,

i'm getting it to. Tried it with a normal 8bit Tif @ 2048x1167 and got a blurred image.
