When I apply a shader that has a texture map to a polygon surface the surface actually disappears! This occurs on Win2k Maya 3.0a & 4. I have the latest 3dlabs win2k drivers and it still occurs. I have tested this on two PCs. One has Service Pack (SP)1 and the other SP2. Still the same problem.
The readme file states: "When running Maya 3 with an Oxygen vx1 there may be problems selecting polygons. The problem may be worked around by settting the environment variable :
MAYA_NO_VERTX_ARRAY_SELECT
I have created the maya.env file and does the following text work:
maya_poly_fix = maya_no_vertex_array_select
Is this correct syntax? I have never dealt with variables. And has anyone encountered this problem before?
