SGI VPRO drivers

Here's something interesting i found in my quest to shove the SGI drivers onto my Gloria,
the drivers are exactly the same as the NVIDIA drivers, the SGI site even says that these drivers are not supported by SGI and and questions should be directed to NVIDIA
so it seems there goes the hope that the SGI vpro cards will be any different from any other geforce/quadro based card

From what I understand of the SGI - NVidia relationship the SGI VPRO cards based on the NVidia chip will be different. Basically SGI get's all the top bin chips allowing them to get a higher clock rate per card. Plus they are all DDR. I think that is the biggest difference you will see on the windows side.

On the linux side there is some more advantages to running the SGI drivers. As SGI as access to the source and any modifications are the rights of SGI first. But I believe SGI will let those mods out after some time.

What do you think?
