I am having some problems with the shadow pass in XSI 1.5. I have created a shadow pass, and when I look at it in a render region, it looks fine. But, when I got to render the final version of it, The resulting image is all black. What do you think could be causing this?
hi! when u render a region if u look at the Render>region on the toolbar u'll see that it's checked at RGB+Alpha but when u make a final render u see only the RGB values on the image. Go to the explorer>passes>shadow pass>Background_objects _partition>Material and open the shadow icon. There u can check the RGB radio button so u'll not get a black image in your final render. hope this helps george
It's me again..i simply want to mention something i forgot before..As i told u before what u see in the region render is RGB+Alpha so when u render and u get a black image this doesn't mean that u don't have the information u see in render region..if u'll save the render in a 24 bit file type as tga pic tiff ect and then open it in a program as photoshop e.g u'll see that all the information is stored in the alpha channel of that image. It's up to u to have the same information in the RGB values with the way i wrote before depending on your compositing plans.I hope that i made things more clear for u now. george
