Hello there,
I'm trying to use the new Prores codecs from FCS2 with Shake, and I found no documentation about difference between prores and prores HQ. So I guessed HQ means 10bit but when rendering 32bit tree in Shake to prores HQ, the output QT is then seen by Shake as an 8bit file.
Is it coming from Shake that doesn't know prores HQ is a 10bit file, only when reading it ?
Or from Shake that believes Prores HQ is an 8bit format when writing it, and so dropping down from 32 to 8bit before compressing to prores HQ ?
How can I be sure that my file is really 10bit ?
After Effect CS3 beta sees also it as an 8bit file, and I found no way in FCP6 to get bit depth info on the file...
Thanx for any help
David
