Shake: Audio To Drive Brightness Node

I have an audio file called Battle.wav that I want to use to animate the value of the brightness node and another Battle01.wav to animate the brightness of a different channel. I have typed in many variations on names into the Brightness value box but it will only accept "

You first have to use "Create curves" under the tab "Audio Panel" (it's located in the middle right section on the side of other tabs for example "node Tree"). When you've analysed the audio file and created a curve you just connect that attribute to the brigtness value. OK?

While this topic is around, I've been meaning to ask : could anyone tell me the correct toggle to have the audio play during flipbook playback in OSX? Its no drama getting audio to render as a quicktime file-out - is it even possible as flipbook? If so, the command-line toggle...? (Have looked around the manual but it hasn't jumped out at me yet)
