Shake Certification

Hi guys,
After a three months course in the best Shake school in town it looks like we'll be given the chance to take the Apple Certification Pro Level 1 end-user exam.
Needless to say i don't consider it my big step, but it'd be nice to have the Apple logo in my card ;-D

Has any of you done it?
Prooving that I can work with Shake thru a choose-one-out-of-four-ansewers test seems pretty ackward to me. What the hell will they ask?

Dunno, just wanted to pitch if there's any smart advice out there... And if you think anyone will give a heck about the paper out there in the industry (i'd rather just go with my reel in front, but does a certification somehow help out?)

No offense but Shake Certification is only worth the 5cents the paper it is printed on. No one cares if you have certification. You only get out of the class what you learned for your own good. It won't help you get a job. I wouldn't even put it on your resume because most people will laugh at it.

Ok! How we recruite is,

We give a test just to understand the candidates Comprehention ability and how much he knows compositing.

thogh we use only Shake, we allow them to give the test in the Software which he knows better.

even if somebody fails in the test, we call him for the personal interview, if he looks promising and has a good attitude towards learning and working hard, we recruit him, even if he doesn't know a b c's of SHAKE ( ofcourse ! shake is an added advantage !).

just get the right attitude towards work, start learning the techniques of compositing, you will get a wonderful job you always wanted !

Dear beaker, I'm the first who stated the minor value of this certification. Although laughing at it is pretty haughty, man! I agree, the reel is the thing, the thing is about compositting and not the software one uses. But we've all seen guys who pretend they control two dozen sofwares and at the end they just grasped the basics, the test should just prove you know THIS software, and thats just... something.

I just wanted to know if anyone did it. No way was I trying to promote something i neither believe in.

Dear Nishok, a test about compositting to hire someone looks just like the first step... without a reel i guess you just hire the appliants for internship or something, don't you?

you are absolutly right, with just test we recruit for internship only.

otherwise reel is a must.
