Shake Demo Problems

Now that Shake has come down to an affordable price, I have been looking into it for a possible purchase. Having downloaded the demo of version 4 and running through the first tutorial, I am having a major problem - I cannot see the rendered images!

I have followed the tutorial through to the letter, and I have tried numerous different file formats, but I have not been able to get a sequence of images (or a .mov) file saved.

I have tried jumping ahead to another tutorial, and managed to get a saved render, but that was missing the background that I had composited in. Yet another tutorial resulted in the full composited image being rendered out (both of these were single images only, not a sequence of images)

Does anybody have any ideas what is happening here?

Try setting the frame count from 1 to 'auto' in the 'Render FileOut nodes' dialogue. if your fileOut node has the proper settings for the QuickTime output, you'll get a .mov for the sequence of images name your output file like this: mygreatfile [@@@@].exr for example the [@] are for the digits in your framecount (100 frames, 0-100 would be @@@). You'll want to leave the brackets in too.
