Shake Script

Hey guys, im trying to write a script for shake that will make an object float in 2D space. I have an element that I want to appear suspended in air and just floating. Very mild movement, no sharp jumps. Its been a while since I wrote scripts in shake, so an tips / ideas to start with will be very helpful

why just don't you just creat a move2D node with expressions on x and Y ?
I maybe missunderstound what you want to do.

you just write for exemple : noise(time*0.5)/2+0.5 of course you adjust all the value in function of your needs.

thats what i do to make something look like floating

hmmm if you want just a simple twitch/jittery (but not so intense) i'd do what fxnurbs says and do just some simple expressions on the x and y values of a move2D node.

if you dont know expressions, i'd say go to the macros section of this site and I actually have a macro pack you can download (wcp macro pack 1). it has a pretty basic one called "flickrSlide" that gives you a random xy movement effect, but it is also adjustable. just ramp up the speed slider (inverted slider due to script expression mistake i made then), and it will slow the speed of the movements.
