Shakes Dod In Nuke

Hey Guys...

i'm new to nuke and i would like to build a workflow that supports something like DoD (Definition of Domain) in shake...

does nuke support the "datawindow"-functionality from openEXR to speed up rendering in areas with no information?

hi,
you can use the ROI ( region of interest) while working,
and to speed-up your renders you can use a crop node.
you can also use a gizmo to link a crop and the ROI
of you viewer.

Yeah it does, and for files that don't have baked-in DOD, use the CurveTool set to Auto Crop. Better than doing it manually.

ok...i just added the datawindow functionality to my mentalray output shader that writes the dataWindow information into the exr....and it works like a charme! now i need to compile the ILM libraries for 64bit....and this sucks...wish me luck...

if someone is using maya/mentalray and wants to test this shader just PM me...
