-I don't know of any color option for smooth bind painting,
but I have a good smooth binding tip,
-when you rotate a joint to paint the weights, think where you want the surface to really be and paint by adding to that joint, don't subtract or smooth- you end up distributing the weight from one joint to a number of others joints,
-just select a joint rotate till you have a deformation to correct, decide when the joint is moved like that where the surface should be and paint it to that joint...
-works nice once you get the hang of it, you can also wotk side by side with the component editor open and watch what happens when you smooth or subtract- it's not pretty, kindof the same thing with rigid binding instead of subtracting a point from a joint in rigid bind snapping it back to the origin bind position of the cv, then adding it to another joint just add it to the joint you would in the end of the process, if you dont like it z out and pick a different joint...
