I hope what I am writing will make a sense :
First of all you may try to relax the vertices on your model using the relax tool.
Secondly if you have the ability to smooth your model then I assume you can possibly convert your model into the SUBDiv's model that you may have a smoother model or you can then again convert it back into polygons ( you should have in the back of your mind that this way you may have a a very dense model ).
Third if you are using a shader in rendering that uses any sort of surface luminance you may try to turn off surface luminance and you will get a better look .
If none of these worked then I am just another guy:)
